Dear Members,
For those of you who are not aware, we recently experienced a tragic
accident in our community. A long time resident, Mr. Gil Ramirez, was
struck and killed while jogging on Pheasant Way in the early morning.
This unfortunate accident has affected the lives of several of our residents
and on behalf of the community, I want to offer our deepest sympathy to
Gil's wife Jackie and his family and friends. Anyone wishing to help out
during this time of need should contact Bob or Michele Laino at 561-994-
0013or 561-843-2812. The contact information is also posted on our website.
Please be careful while walking, jogging, and above all, while driving in
our community !
Some information regarding the granting of the Association's Motion for
Summary Judgment, which took place on October 17th, on the declaratory
judgment action is filtering into the community. Rumors have started
regarding the outcome of the case and how it may effect the enforcement of
our By-Laws or Rules & Regulations.
Please understand that this case likely set a precedent in Florida HOA law.
Although there have been relative legal actions, none that our attorney
could find have addressed the exact same issue. Our attorney is preparing a
letter for the Board of Directors to distribute to each member. We will
clearly explain the effect of this case and outline for you all, the steps
we need to take in the future.
November 22nd is coming quickly. We still have some openings for golfers in
our 2nd Annual Tournament. Time is running out to get on board and join us
for a fun event. If you are a single player, we have several others we can
easily pair you with. Get out and meet some of your neighbors.
This is all about supporting your community. Entry forms are available at
the front exit or you can print one from the website. Don't get shut out.
We only have room for 100 players. Remember, all proceeds will be used to
upgrade the front entrance of the community. If you don't golf, be a
sponsor. Many of our residents who own or operate local businesses are
participating this year.
The park improvements scheduled for 2003 are in the final stages. I think
our committee has done an outstanding job of reopening the park from Fox
Hunt Trail. When you have time, take a look at the progress.
The residents who live at the West end of Brandywine have been complaining
to Wackenhut and PBSO about the trespassing through their yards to get to
and from the Synagogue and shopping center. If it continues, consideration
will be made to close off the access.
Sincerely,
Bill Schira
