Dear Members,
On behalf of the Board of Directors we hope you all had an enjoyable
Thanksgiving holiday. We are nearing the end of 2003. At our November
Board meeting a new budget for F/Y 2004 was approved. Annual Dues will be
mailed in January. The Board approved a slight increase equating to $ 18.00
per year, bringing the total Annual Dues to $ 400.00. I want to thank the
Budget Committee for their efforts in preparing and presenting a new
proposed budget to the Board.
During the coming year, we will be looking for volunteers to work on a
committee to perform an important task. That task will be to prepare voting
documents for the entire membership regarding the Amendments to our
documents that were recently adjudicated as invalid, due to the method used
by prior Boards of Directors to enact those Amendments. The recent Court
ruling reasserts the voting rights of each and every member of our
Homeowners Association.
If you are interested in volunteering for this important project, please
contact Pointe Management or e-mail the Board of Directors through the
website. It is our intention to consider all the invalid amendments and
possibly prepare additional amendments for a community vote. The benefits
and consequences of each amendment must be clearly defined in the voting
documents prepared for the membership.
I want to point out that when prior Boards amended our documents, they did
so on the advice of counsel and acted in the best interest of the
membership. Unfortunately, the proper legal procedure requires a majority
vote of our members. The legal action taken by the Board of Directors
establishes the proper procedure for all future amendments to our documents.
The Saturday before Thanksgiving we completed the 2nd Annual Pheasant Walk
Community Golf Tournament. This year's tournament was a success. Although
we did not have as many golfers participating this year, we did not have to
meet a minimum quota for the event. I believe our final total was
approximately 74 golfers. We will present the financial results in our next
newsletter. I want to thank the Golf Tournament Committee for your
relentless support of this event and all of the members who volunteered to
help with the tournament.
I also want to thank our sponsors and friends for the tremendous support.
Each sponsor will be highlighted in the January through March newsletters
and we encourage our residents to patronize our sponsors whenever possible.
Our next and final 2003 Board of Directors meeting will be Wednesday,
December 10th at the firehouse. We wish all our members a wonderful holiday
season and a prosperous New Year !
Sincerely,
Bill Schira
