Dear Members,
We will be starting the new landscaping of the front entrance in the near future. Plans
have been made to relocate existing healthy landscaping to areas of the community where
improvements are needed.
The palm trees along Pheasant Way will also be trimmed soon. We have had a little
difficulty getting bids for this work to compare and select a vendor. I believe the
additional bids have been received and we will now make a selection. The sidewalks
along Pheasant Way are in the process of being pressure cleaned.
These improvements will significantly enhance the appearance of our main entry. Again, I
want to thank the Golf Tournament Committee for raising the proceeds that have
contributed nearly half of the landscaping costs.
Our annual elections will be held the first week of April. Anyone interested in running for
election to the Board of Directors should send a brief bio to Pointe Management to be
passed on to the Committee.
The Association still has not received any response from the Supervisor of Elections
regarding the relocation of our polling location. I hope some of you have written to
express your concerns.
In response to a recent letter to the editor regarding the comparison of Pheasant Walk to
Millpond and Timbercreek. I understand the writer's frustration. However, both of those
communities have always maintained higher home values and their association dues are
significantly higher. Millpond has full-time property management on site, which makes a
considerable difference in the accomplishments of the community.
This Board and any future Board will be faced with the prospects of funding
improvements without drastically increasing the membership dues. We have the lowest
dues of any community I am aware of in the area and many of our residents would like to
keep it that way.
Although Pheasant Walk has a large number of members, our dues would have to nearly
double to be able to afford full-time property management and some of the benefits of
neighboring communities. In all, the home values in our community have increased
proportionately with those of other communities.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, we wish you all a healthy and prosperous 2004.
Sincerely,
Bill Schira
