Dear Members,
As the year 2003 is closing and we roll into another New
Year,it's time to look back and hope that our residents are
keeping in tune with the affairs of the Pheasant Walk Homeowners
Association. Your Board and Committee Volunteers are trying to
make a difference and have completed several initiatives this
year with a few more on the coming agendas. One recent issue you all should take interest in is the way our
community has been completely snubbed by the Palm Beach County
Supervisor of Elections, Theresa LaPore.I recently received my Voters Registration Card like all of are
residents who are registered. When I looked at our polling place
I was surprised to see that the Supervisor's Office had moved our
location further from the community. We now have to drive to
Delray Beach to vote.Since January of 2003, I have personally written 3 letters along
with letters from other residents requesting that our polling
place be moved to the fire station. The Polo Club residents vote
at their clubhouse, why shouldn't we be afforded the same
convenience.Between Bocaire and Pheasant Walk, we have about the same number
of total residents as the Polo Club but I do not know the number
of registered voters. I would suggest that we have fewer
seasonal residents who are likely to be registered in other
states.Anyway, Ms. LaPore is running for re-election and I think our
community, at the very least, deserved a response instead of a
snubbing. I urge you to write Ms. LaPore's office and try to get
some kind of answer. If we all get snubbed, then maybe it's time
for a change and our votes just might count heavily.Do we deserve less ???
On behalf of the Board of Directors, we wish you all a prosperous
and Happy 2004 !
